My First Post

I've been wanting to do this for years.  So today, I finally quit procrastinating and created a blog.  Not like it was a ton of work...it was really a piece of cake.  The work is all done for you.  All you have to do is pick colors, or font sizes, or upload an image or two.  I'm not sure what I was waiting for.  And who knows how long I'll do this.  I started prepping soil for a garden yesterday, with Bob's help, and I thought it would be interesting to update my progress on the garden here.  So here goes:

Friday evening, Bob came over and we had dinner with my cousins Paul and Pat Leyba.

On Saturday, April 30, Bob and I went to the Santa Fe Garden Fair, where we watched Erin Wade give a presentation on "Fearless Vegetable Gardening".  Afterwards, Bob and I rototilled a plot 25 ft. x 30 ft. just southwest of my house.  We mixed in just under 1" of compost, which we picked up in 4 loads in my car from the Santa Fe Equestrian Center.  Saturday, I also bought 4 tomato plants and 4 mint (spearmint) plants.

Yesterday was blustery, cold, windy, and we even had some flurries, so I stayed inside.  It's still a bit cold, but I might head out this evening and begin making raised beds, or as I call them, "rows".

That's it, Blog Post Number 1!
